Upcoming Improvement to Profit Tracker Document Handling
I wanted to let you know about an upcoming improvement to Profit Tracker.
In the past, Profit Tracker included a document scanning feature that saved scanned documents as PDF files. While this worked in some cases, scanner support has become more difficult, especially with newer computers, 64-bit Office, and different scanner drivers. Some users have had trouble getting their scanners to work correctly through the program.
To make this easier and more reliable, I am replacing the scanner feature with a new document attachment feature.
With the new setup, you will be able to attach many different types of files to a trip or record, including:
And Other saved paperwork.
This means you will no longer be limited to only scanned PDF documents. If you already have a file saved on your computer, received by email, downloaded from a website, or created by another program, you can attach it directly in Profit Tracker.
The main benefits are:
It works better with newer computers and Office 365
It avoids many scanner driver problems
It supports many file types, not just PDF files
You can attach multiple documents to one trip or record
Files open in their normal Windows program
It gives you more flexibility for keeping trip paperwork organized
This change should make document handling easier, more dependable, and more useful going forward.
